Iam thinking about building a fast finger quiz show buzzer for a local high school. I want to use the nerdkit. I am thinking about using Staples " that was easy" button with some modifications of course, maybe have the led array display the team number to buzz in first and a buzzer of course. In short the nerdkit will listen to the staples button (total of 2 to4 max), sound the buzzer and display the team name or number. The question is will I have enough ports to do all this with one kit? I am not so sure how many ports the led array kit uses

Rachid, sounds like you are going to need some port expansion. You could use I2C Portexpanders or I2C or SPI mcu Master/Slave.

It's doable but you would have your work cut out for you.
