I have an extra MCU, but have only one cable. I have figured out the extreme terminals on the USB. But it's the two in between I can't. I did it using a Digital Meter. I have an extra cable, which I opened, I know what GND and +5V is, its the data pins I need figuring out.

You can't use a basic USB cable to connect to the nerdkit. The cable they supply is a USB/Serial adapter that has electronics in it's plug. You would either need to purchase another cable from them or source your own TTS USB/Serial cable.
