I'm trying to work out if running an Atmega168 using an external 32kHz crystal required the 20pF capacitors on each side (on PCB - not breadboard). I find the datasheet ambiguous, it only states the capacitor values at higher frequencies. I know the use of the capacitors is to ensure it starts up reliably. |

The datasheet for the crystal should be able to provide what they recommend for the capacitors. Most I've seen range around 15pF - 22pF. Rick |
