So has anyone played around with the Intel Galileo?

I looked at it, but I really don't need another development platform. If it were built more like an embedded PC and could be flashed with a version of DOS, Windows, or Linux so it could boot up similar to a raspberry pi, I'd been more attracted to it. As it is, it has to have the applications developed off device and loaded in. There is no on board video or sound, just a bunch of I/O.
